I'm trying to install conky on my Slackware. I've downloaded the files from slackbuilds.org (both conky and lua). I've compiled and installed lua writing "make linux" and "sudo make install", but when I'm trying to compile conky, it says:
Code:
No package 'lua5.1' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LUA51_CFLAGS
and LUA51_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I've executed that (as normal user and as root), but nothing. There is a file in /usr/local/lib. It's liblua.a, and a lua directory. But not in /usr/lib/pkgconfig/

If you are using SlackBuilds you don't use the make command to build the package. Read the documentation how to use SlackBuilds here. After compiling lua with the SlackBuild-script you will find the compiled package in your /tmp-folder, you have to install it now.
It is much easier to use sbopkg for installing software via SlackBuilds.org.

If you still have the source directories do 'make uninstall' as root for both, then use the slackbuilds.org scripts (or sbopkg www.sbopkg.org)
