JeeBizz, that is just if you pick newbie mode, it isn't the default, just thought it was funny.

Thumbs up

Installed it on VirtualBox (on SW 12.2) this afternoon and I'm awed, so smooth and fast (I've had Windows 7, Xubuntu and Mandriva on VB...).
It's really great!
Thanks Pat and your team.

Congratulations and thanks the team very much.
I am very curious about this version of Slackware ...

ps: Instead of Slackware 13.0 Slackware could have been 12.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 ................

Thanks

What's that supposed to mean?

Mathematically speaking, 13 is the same thing as 12.999..., that's what he meant I think .

Thank you!!!!!! for "saying 13.0" on that snip of current in time. But thanks most of all to team for the outstanding effort over time that brought it forth "into now".

How big is the slice (or is it a spot?) of time that is a "moment", say as to the current moment of time?

Math fun or _______ begins at next to the end (but at what (microscopic) point do we decide/say "end"). You've been warned.

| 12.0 . . . . . 12.9999_9's_to_infinity . . . 13.000000001 . . 13.1 |

Range?

Where, precisely, on that range, might 13.0 lie?

Oh no, <grin> they have that new electron and atom powered microscope that scales which allows it to see further down into yet even smaller pieces of the infinitely divisible.

Infinitely divisible (pieces on a range) cannot (technically) be labeled as precisely 13.0?

A break of that infinite is a decision to say 13.0?

Which does not mean that it *is* 13.0?

Whose standards? When do we stop splitting microscopic hairs of the infinite and say 13.0?

Perhaps that new (Slackware powered) Super Computer can go yet farther with this than what the new microscope has so far.

Computers do math well. (whatever well means, if anything).

Alan.

It'd be more like 13.00000000000000000000000000000...

Ok let's not hijack the thread, but (being a mathematician) I will repeat that 12.999.... (with infinite 9s) is exactly equal to 13. Nothing deep here, the decimal system (or any base-n system) allows you to represent certain real numbers in two different ways, that's all .

Wow! There's nothing like coming home from vacation, only to find a newly released Slackware living on your favorite mirror.

Congratulations and many many thanks for the people who made this possible.

If I actually get my slackware 64 working I'm planning on buying their "collectible" version from their store, just to support them and have an official copy. Slackware definitely is the best, and I'm glad they're doing as well as they are.
