compiz-fusion window focus not properly switching

I'm hoping that this is a stupid question with a very simple answer that I just can't find.

I've been playing around with compiz-fusion on -current64. When I have two windows open, if I close the top, active window, I would expect that the next window in the stack would receive the focus. However, it does not. I have to alt-tab to it or click it with the mouse.

I've been through the plugin options in ccsm until I'm dizzy.

launch

ccsm (this is the compiz-fusion settings manager)

then under the "General Options" tab "Focus & Raise Behavior" then check all the boxes

After that you can also enable under the Animations/focus tab to enable focus dodge, its a pretty cool effect.

Don't enable click to focus or you will need to click the window to get focus.

Daedra, I already had all of those checked and had played with the focus effects. They don't resolve this focus problem.

{BBI}Nexus{BBI}, I want to keep click to focus enabled because I don't want the focus to follow the mouse.
