compiling slamd64 kernel

Sorry for my ignorance here guys.. but this is my first time me having a 64 bit system.. there for I never compiled a 64 bit linux kernel until now...
I do have a few questions though.. as soon as I get done with menuconfig I type in make.. .after that I type in make modules_install... ok.. everything fine.. now.. in.. arch.. I see

i386
ia64
x86_64

in what directory is the correct bzimage at? correct me if I am wrong.. but I take it that its.. x86_64? am I right?

P.S: Need to recompile the kernel want to see why my mouse is not working
and it could be a kernel issue being that ps/2 was selected as module
in the input section.

Yes, x86_64 is the right one. i386 is for 32-bit, and ia64 is for Itanium and the like, server processors.
