Compiled 2.6.10 and no more screen found!

Hello everybody!

I've successfully compiled kernel 2.6.10 yesterday on my
Slackware 10.0 using the tutorial found on this forum (thanks!),
BUT when I restarted my system and choosing 2.6 from lilo I've got a surprise: a blank screen!

Then I restarted my system choosing the old 2.4, to look for these files: messages and x.org.log (/var/log/), and we have:

Anytime you change your kernel you'll need to recompile the nvidia drivers.

Also, you'll need these patches in order for the drivers to compile against that 2.6 kernel.

ok - thanks!
I've changed lilo option vga and now I can see the console.

NOW the problem is in X: can't get mouse to work.
xorg.log says "no driver for mouse"

It is in com2 (ttys3 - serial wheel mouse), and in xorg.conf
I use:
driver = mouse
protocol = intellimouse
Zaxismapping 4 5 (I guess... don't remember now)

and it used to work in 2.4.26.

What should I do?

Other problem is ALSA.
I have a SB16 emu10k1, and already had alsa running before compiling the new kernel with native support for alsa.
Should I remove alsa package? How to get the kernel to work on my SB?
