Clicking help link in SWAT samba util gives error 404

I was setting up my samba shares and stuff and I clicked on the help link that is by a typical entry on SWAT (Samba Web Administration Tool). My browser gave an error 404. How do I fix it. I am just curious.

If this has been discussed before, I apologize. I am new.

you need to provide information on your distribution and your version of samba.... then its much easier to help....

it sounds like swat is working but the page you are trying to browse to is not actually present. what is the URL in the browser??

You're not alone. I have noticed this too. If you hover the mouse pointer over the links you'll see that they all point to a directory that does not exist. At least the directory does not exist on my box. I'm using Slackware 10.2. I also searched my box for the file names and never found the files. For whatever reason, all of the help links in SWAT, at least in 10.2, are bogus. I don't know if the links are bad within the original samba sources or when recompiled by PV. I just don't know. Would be nice if those links all connected to real pages.

Heck, I can't even get SWAT to start...lol

I just used the samba config utility in KDE, and changed the smb.conf myself

Possibly because the port SWAT uses is disabled and in typical Slackware fashion must be manually enabled:

Enabling the Samba Web Administration Tool (SWAT)
