changing fortune messages when starting

hi slackers,

It seems like a dumb question but i can't figure out why i can't seem to be able to get my own fortune working when i make a new fortune text file. This is what i do.

i run exactly what is written here. Great site btw.

grimthing.com/archives/2003/12/21/fun-with-fortunes

ahhh my first post so i can't html this one yet (< 5 posts)

then i edit this baby right here.

Code:
/etc/profile.d/bsd-games-login-fortune.sh
with this
Code:
f [[ $- = *i* ]]; then
  echo
  myfortune fortune fortunes fortunes2 linuxcookie
  echo
fi
and 'll get this

Code:
-bash: myfortune: command not found

It be nothing life threatening but i'm really in the dark as to what i can possibly be doing wrong
My thanks,

Arnoud

fortune is a binary file and prints sayings from /usr/share/games/fortune. There you will find data files. You can put yours there. Hope that helps.

Yeah - you want 'myfortune' *after* fortune. The first word is the command, the next the databases.
Code:
if [[ $- = *i* ]]; then
  echo
  fortune myfortune fortunes fortunes2 linuxcookie
  echo
fi
