I was thinking about subscribing to Transgaming and getting Cedega, but was wondering if anyone has had any luck with getting Cedega working on Slack 10 and what games they've ran with it? I tried a CVS version of Wine or WineX a long time ago with like slack 9 and couldn't get anything working with it (same with CrossOver Office). I don't want to pay money for something I'm not going to be able to get to work. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, I don't have Slack 10, but I can vouch for Cedega working. Sure it has its rough edges here and there, but when it comes down to it, it's always come out on top for me. You may have to do some tweaking, but I'm sure you can get it working, especially with help right here in the forums!
It works perfectly. I just subscribed to transgaming yesturday (and I´m running slackware 10).
No problems whatsoever. So far I´ve only tried warcraft III though (blizzards games are pretty much the only ones I care about)
I run Slackware 10 and recently downloaded Cedera. Only game I've tried is City of Heroes, which actually works for the most part.
Reading the Transgaming support forums seems to give the impression that people are disappointed and angry. Not sure if they just have overly high expectations or something really is wrong and misleading with their product.

I'm very interested in getting CoH, so I'm curious as to what doesn't seem to work all that well for you. As soon as I get all my car payments and stuff out of the way, I'm laying the smackdown on CoH.
I am running Slackware 10, and I just installed Cedega today. The only game I've tried is Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and it works great. I haven't had a problem with it yet, except that the mouse wheel doesn't work. If anyone knows how to get the mouse wheel working with Cedega, let me know.
I had to write a review of Cedega for Linuxlookup.com. I installed it on Slack 10 and had no problems. They provide a .tgz package. The easiest way to do it is install Point2Play, the graphical front end, and then install Cedega through it. I was genuinely impressed with the product. I was able to install Painkiller, MaxPayne, Half-Life Uplink and a few other things with absolutely no problem.
remember to run warcraft III with the commandline -opengl
Otherwise it will run it via the standard directX to openGL system, which is about 20% slower (at least on my comp). Point2Play is very easy to use and works great.
The installation was no problem. There was a .tgz package that came with it, so I just did an installpkg cedega-xxx.tgz and then installed the font package after that. Next thing I did was just typed in cedega on the command line and it made the mach C: drive and all the subdirectories it needed. After that I inserted the Medal of Honor install cd and ran cedega -use-pthreads no /mnt/cdrom/Setup.exe, and it did all the setup. I use the -use-pthreads no option because it will freeze when I tray to play MOH wihtout out. It gave me a warning message that told me to use the option because my stack size was too small or somethign like that. Other then that the game play's excellent.
