cdrom question

ok i have permissions set right to my cdrom so the user can mount and unmount the drive. what i really want to do is have it so that when i put a cd in the drive the information will automatically be visible in /mnt/cdrom, it's not that i don't mind using the fstab manager, i would just like to elimnate that step if possible, so is there a way to automount the information from the cd to /mnt/cdrom in slackware?

thanks

There is a kernel patch called supermount that will do that.
It makes the ekernel handle mounting and un-mounting the same way windows does.

there are already how-to
's written, use the search funtion or google.

A combo of HAL and DBUS will also get this done. . .
Currently Dropline Gnome for Slackware will set it all up for you.

Or just recompile KDE with HAL/DBUS support.

well i tried the supermount tutorial someone wrote for slackware, everything appeared to install ok and compile properly, but it still doesn't work, i'm guessing it's a problem in my fstab.
