I have tried to get this installed on my own for sometime, this is the post that did it for me. I know that I am a bit late , but thought I would thank you guys for the "unknown" assistance you have given me.

It just goes to show you, NO QUESTION is stupid, and although it took some patient "hand holding" to assist the original "poster" .... it probably helped more than just me. That is why I am posting.

Great Site = Great Contributers !!!!!!!!!!!

Ok guys. I am happy to find place on the ether with supportive lads. The truth is I was sick of using Windows, because it's overpriced, bloated and does not do specificly what I want it to do. I figured, there will be a learning curve with Linux, but after jumping through the hoops my efforts will be rewarded. The problem is, I keep running into shit that does not work. It's usually little stuff, like no scroll wheel on the mouse, no flash player... However I am usually happy whenever I get stuff to work. I know that part of Linux, especially distro's like Slackware, is the figureing out fun, but my question is the following:
Has anyone among you reached a point where you are happy with your system and it needs minimal tweaking? I.E: You just use the comp to accomplish things like work vs. spend hours/days getting it to work? Any input will be appreciated. Don't get me wrong, I like this stuff, but sometimes I wonder about the cost / benefits ratio. Chears.

George

Angry Plugin Problems?

I went to Macromedia's site and actually dloaded the plugin. Installed it as they said, it asked for the mozilla location, I put in /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4.1

I notice the two new files in the plugins directory after it installed. I re-logged back in like it specified and flash does not show up under help/plugins.

I did however had to install compat-libstdc++ before it showed up! Don't forget this!

-using Fedora Core 1 and Mozilla 1.4.1 .

Thanks..

Bob
