Can't get sound working on Toshiba Netbook nb200

I have just bought a Toshiba netbook nb200. I get rid of windows xp, and install Slackware 13. Everything is fine except for the sound. There is no sound.

Anyone has got that problem before. Please help me!

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Open up a Terminal/Konsole

Type su and hit enter

then type root's password and hit enter

Type alsamixer and hit enter

Adjust the sliders for your sound device (up down arrow keys)

If any have MM at the bottom then they are muted, hit m to unmute them.

After adjusting your settings to your liking, hit esc

Now type alsactl store and hit enter, your settings are now saved.

Good luck.......happy slacking.

I found a solution for this problem. Based on the website http://blog.partition36.com/2009/11/01/new-netbook.html, I have to install a new version of alsa, which is 1.0.22. Then, I am able to hear the sound via head phone. At the moment, I can't get sound through speaker. anyways, Its enough for me.

Happy slacking now!
