bootup cdrom image


Hi all,

I am download Slackware 9.0 cd image 1 and 2. After I burn to my cd. I can not boot it from the cd I made? Please help me how to install Slackware from the image I downloaded?

Sounds like you did not burn your CDs to be bootable, or your BIOS is not set to boot from a CD.

I am not a slackware user, but most distros have an option to create a bootable floppy to start the installation from.

Hey..i too face the same problem..i have downloaded the two iso images for slackware 9.1 and burnt them to cd's..but...the first cd isnot booting..i have configured BIOS to boot the cd rom first..but...its not happening..is something wrong with my cd or .....it happens sometimes?if so..whats the remedy???

I went to the slackware website, and went to the "install help" link:
(http://www.slackware.com/install/bootdisk.php)

From there I went to the "Selecting a Boot Disk" link:
http://www.slackware.com/install/

There I saw this at the top of the page:
"In order to install Slackware Linux you must boot a small version of it from diskette."

Sounds to me like you don't install Slackware by booting from the CD, but from a pair of boot floppies.
