Is there a way to explode the RPM into a folder? Or maybe try rpm2tgz? Because, once you have all the icons out on the table, it is REALLY easy to make a kde icon theme.
Go take a look at /opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg and see the folder layout, plus the index.theme. That's not too much trouble, if you can the Bluecurve icons out of the RPM.
I'm gonna go give it a try; if successful, I'll post a howto or just post the archive.
Yup! Just rpm2tgz the redhat-artwork rpm, and then untar the tgz (DON'T INSTALLPKG!!!). Drill down to the icons directory, and you'll find the Bluecurve folder. Copy that to /opt/kde/share/icons/ and you're good to go.
As for the rest of the artwork, well, same applies. Just figure out the appropriate slackware locations versus fedora/redhat.
Thanks, Philip, but that didn't quite work either.
It works if I start a KDE session as root, but as any other user only the kmenu icon changes (and I usually replace that with Tux anyway). All the other icons---Home, Trash, etc.---are still KDE defaults. I checked the permissions on the Bluecurve icons and they're all world-readable, so now I have no idea what's going on.
Oh, well, guess I should just quit worrying about icons.
