Black menus under Compiz/KDE

Hello fellow slackers,

I have a problem, I am using Compiz and KDE and when most menus come up, they are completely black. As in, I can not read them for they are a black box with no words. I can click within the black boxes and guesstimate what I might be clicking, but I am sure you can understand that is not very productive. If anyone has encountered a similar problem please let me know of a solution for I am quite past the point of a resolution of my own.

Thank you...

Compiz is the one comming with Slack? Or did you install a newer one? Which Slackware version? You could post your xorg.conf and start compiz from the terminal to check for errors.

Which video card are you using? If you're using an nVidia card, you simply need a newer driver.

Hello thanks for the replies. Apparently the black menus only happen when I had OpenOffice Calc open. Other than that its the stock Compiz that came with Slack 12.0. Don't worry about finding a solution, I've reverted back to fluxbox because KDE+Compiz wasn't really all that productive for me. Thanks again.
