Best way to upgrade

Hello folks:

I'm running Slack 10, and just recently, 10.1 came out. I am wondering, is there a simple way to upgrade from 10 -> 10.1?

Thanks in advance,
have a nice day

there's a file called "UPGRADE.TXT" in the root-dir on the ftp-server.
it's a simple howto, and far more reliable than any batch-install.

swaret can do it, just make sure you've udated your slack 10 packages first, then change the version number in /etc/swaret.conf from 10.0 to 10.1.

Just be aware some changes like the xorg upgrade require editing config files.

...and your machine will hang when you update the glibc package...
better use the official guidelines.

well...i know some people have good results, but it's possible to mess up.
just to stay on the safe side, use the guidelines by PV.

I agree. I upgraded from Slackware 9.0 to 10.0 using the upgrade.txt and it worked quite well.
