backupicons in Slackware 10.2

Hi there,

After I created a document using KWord and saved it to my desktop, it also shows the backup file filename~.

What do I have to do conceal these files permanently?

And please note that in nearly every "K"-application dealing with text (at least KWord, KWrite and Kate) you have a option under "Configuring" where you can switch this behavior on and off. Just look for generating/saving "Backup copy" or similar in the preferences.
