ok, i just d/led Azureus and i cannot get it to work. i also d/led java and untared it, but there is no configure to run or anything so not really sure if it is installed. when i try running ./azureus in the azureus directory i get
Code:
Attempting to start Azureus...
./azureus: line 52: /home/digiphr34k/programs/j2re1.4.2_04
java: No such file or dirctory
It looks as though you've already edited the azureus start script and set the JAVA_PROGRAM_DIR variable.
You need to point it to the /bin/ subdirectory of the java installation.
That's strange.
You don't receive any error messages at all? What version are you using?
I know basically nothing about java, so all I can suggest is that you follow the advice of the howto on the Azureus website and try to start it manually. Azureus website.
See if that produces any errors. Without some kind of error message it's hard to tell what's going wrong.
did you have a previously working version and recently update to the new 2.1.0.0 through the actual program?
I did and got a similar error (sorry can't remember it exactly)
basically the program does not download from source forge properly and ends up downloading a http file thinking its the azureus.jar file... anyways.. goto the website and download the latest version again and just untar it over the current installation... worked for me
ok, i've never had any version of Azureus before, i d/led this one from the Azureus website and untarred it. i get no error message at all. just pauses for a moment, and then brings me back to the bash prompt. i tried to start it manually and that didn't work either. it didn't give me any errors though, just posted the options for java, like i didn't do it right or sumthin. i dunno.
thx
