hi,
just switched from slack 10.1 (linux v2.6.14) to slack 12.0 (linux v2.6.22)and can't get my external TV card working.
In kernel 2.6.14 I could select:
Code:
Device Drivers-->Multimedia devices-->Digital Video Broadcasting Devices-->DVB For Linux-->DVB Core Support-->Support for various USB DVB devices-->AVerMedia AverTV DVB-T USB 2.0 (A800)
In v2.6.22's menuconfig that option just doesn't exist
Code:
│ │ <M> Video For Linux │ │
│ │[*] Enable Video For Linux API 1 (DEPRECATED) │ │
│ │ --- Enable Video For Linux API 1 compatible Layer │ │
│ │[*] Video capture adapters ---> │ │
│ │[*] Radio Adapters ---> │ │
│ │ <M> DVB for Linux │ │
│ │[*] Load and attach frontend modules as needed │ │
│ │[*] DVB/ATSC adapters ---> │ │
│ │[*] DAB adapters │ │
│ │ <M> DABUSB driver
Got everything switched on and firmware installed (in /lib/firmware) but the control-led keeps off and the module is not visible:
Code:
# modinfo dvb-usb
modinfo: could not find module dvb-usb
I also tried to install the driver via linuxtv-dvb-package:
Code:
/usr/local/linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1# ./makelinks /usr/src/linux
...
# cd /usr/src/linux
# make menuconfig

EDIT---------------------------------------
Now I found a helpful website:
http://www.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pboe...=dvb-usb-howto
package compilation worked, but I got another problem now:
Code:
root@ester:/usr/local/v4l-dvb-cdf3d32494a7/v4l# modprobe i2c-core
FATAL: Module i2c_core not found.
root@ester:/usr/local/v4l-dvb-cdf3d32494a7/v4l# modprobe firmware_class
FATAL: Module firmware_class not found.
Where are these modules in menuconfig?
EDIT--------------------------------------------
Problem is solved now, recompiled the kernel with i2c support and did make all instead of just make in v4l package o_O
Now there is just the problem left that the needed modules arent't loaded while booting, but I think that this is another question which can be put into another thread.
