since I compiled my own audacious and it's plugins to get AAC+ radio streams running I get an "segmentation fault" every time I start audacious. When I delete ~/.config/audacious it runs until I close it. Then I have to delete audacious' config folder.
I don't like it, but all I found on the Internet was "After I upgraded to 8.10 (Ubuntu) it works again".. That sucks that no one knows the answer to this problem and it seems no one is interested in...
However, I need a (temporary) replacement for Audacious. Before I used Slackware, I used Archlinux + Xfce and my media player was Rhythmbox, but there's no SlackBuild and I don't really want it's GNOME dependencies.
Currently I run xmms but it's not really satisfying because I it has no plugin to minimize it to the tray. Do you know any non-KDE and non-GNOME dependent media player that provides a playlist that is saved when I close (VLC has a playlist but it doesn't save it...) and is able to be minimized to the tray?
This slackbuild works for slackware64 13.1. I've built it successfully using the tarball source version R-1142. Plays everything thrown at it, although APE files are buggy.
I use 'Music on command' for my music needs. Amarok (from within XFCE) takes care of my Ipod. I might check out that Clementine one though, that looks nice.
Ah, thanks. I already compiled it, but I seems that I need to install gstreamer bad or ugly.^^ In a few seconds I'll know. I like Clementine's interface.
another route you could take is mpd + sonata or some similar client. You don't even need X at all to run it, so it is definitely KDE/GNOME independent.

I like Sonata (and I'm using it) but absence of queue of any kind is really annoying. I'm thinking of switching to something else. Clementine perhaps...
