ati or radeon driver ?

i have an old compaq evo n610c laptop which has an ati mobility 7500 32mb graphics card in it, obviously ati dont make a linux driver for such an old card and nor do hp (they bought compaq) so i am left with the kernel driver, just wondering if one should be used over the other or doesnt it matter

Ati driver is just a wrapper and automatically selects the appropriate driver for your card (in this case it should be radeon). So there is no difference which driver you'll use.
