Are there any plans for an officially sanctioned Slackware image on Amazon EC2? I am looking for one blessed by Patrick Volkerding, Alien Bob or possibly another member of the "inner circle". I do realize that there are some recipes for creating my own but the recipes are daunting enough for me to just go and use a Debian Jessie or even Ubuntu LTS image! I am looking for one blessed by PV or one of his lieutenants, not necessarily sanctioned by Amazon.

Stuff like that will not be "sanctioned" by Patrick or any of the other team members, unless one of us has a need to subscribe to Amazon Enterprise Cloud and create an image for it. But that costs money, which none of us probably have.

Slackware is a distro that takes the shape of a bootable installation medium. Slackware does not offer ready-to-install images of a prepared system. If people decide to create such an image (for cloud solutions, for Raspberry Pi computers etc) then that is called a "community effort" and that's all you will get.
