Alsa PnP Detect Issue

When I run "alsaconf", I'm told that no PnP PCI devices are detected, and then it asks me if I want to check for legacy ISA drivers.

I have a fully functional SoundBlaster Live PCI card in my box. How do I make Alsa find it?

I was able to resolve this problem by removing the slack packages and recompiling alsa from source. Good luck!

My solution was to reinstall ALSA packages.

that alsa doesn't work for me either but i have sound when i do a modprobe es1371. so i guess alsa isn't a big deal for me.

Which version of Asla are you running? I was having the same problem with a different card, and I upgraded my entire Alsa system to the version that is in Slack-Current, and it detected my card and everything was all good.
