Just installed Slackware current on another machine and I can't get acroreader to work. I installed Acrobat 5 on /usr/local put nppdf.so in my firefox plugins directory and installed a symlink from acroread to /usr/X11R6/bin/acroread. This works fine on my other slack box . The only difference is I'm not using KDE on the new install (using Windowmaker) when I click on a pdf file the download manager opens, does nothing and shows "done" on the status bar. X returns an error "acroread must be executed from the startup script" I'm stuck here. Any help appreciated.
