adding a sub interface

Hi all, Im trying to add another IP to use for other daemons in my slackware install. I know how to do it in debian (add eth0:0 to the interfaces file) but dont know how to on slackware. Ive tried adding an eth0:0 to the rc.inet.conf file but this gives me an error saying something like it cannot give me this ip (192.168.0.121). Im guessing i have to change something elsewhere but not sure.

Any help appreciated.

Red face

Sorry for the lame question guys...

Its
Code:
ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.0.121
and add it to rc.local so its there when you reboot.

Or edit rc.inet1.conf as
Code:
IFNAME[0]="eth0:0"
IPADDR[0]="xx.xx.xx.xx"
NETMASK[0]="xx.xx.xx.xx"
USE_DHCP[0]=""
DHCP_HOSTNAME[0]=""

IFNAME[1]="eth0:1"
IPADDR[1]="xx.xx.xx.xx"
NETMASK[1]="xx.xx.xx.xx"
USE_DHCP[1]=""
DHCP_HOSTNAME[1]=""

...
