mv "a thread about bash ... again" "no fancy shell"

when a log as "su -" on a xterm for exmaple I get nice colors and a fancy prompt like

Code:
Password: ****

fortune

root@myhost:~ #
but when I 'exit' my prompt is booring and have no colors ... or path ... or fortune.

bash-[version]$

i have no .bashrc neither for me or root (and i don't think i need it), i just want the same console for lusers (me).
DIR_COLORS is in /etc
profile is in /etc

someone know what's happen...

sorry if this was asked before.

using slack 10.1

Create .bashrc which contains
Code:
source /etc/profile
source ~/.bash_profile
then run
Code:
touch ~/.bash_profile
Save .bash_profile to put any custom aliases etc you want.
