Angry 6230 with dku-2 usb cable on zenwalk

My first post and an obvious newbie.

I am having fits with my Nokia 6230 with usb DKU-2 cable.

All I want is to transfer files back and forth from the MMC. I don't care about syncing contacts, etc. I don't need to mess with bluetooth. I just want to use it as a usb thumb drive basically.

I have zenwalk 1.2. I've tried gnokii...says it compiles, makes and installs, but can't get to my phone once it does.

My usb seems to work because my usb printer installed and is working.

When I run lsusb it shows up as Nokia Mobile Phones.

I really want to take a stab at linux. But there's gotta be a way to do this one thing without a Computer Science degree. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to LQ.

What happens when you try to access it with gnokii? Do you get a specific error?

thanks for responding

well...gnokii was working on my last zenwalk install...now it says it can't find libgnokii.so.2

don't know what i did before to get it installed and to actually run

i did however get this to run correctly

dku_nokia from the kouin dot org site (can't post urls yet)

i install it and run as he says and get the first screenshot of the terminal output just like on his site

however, i don't know how he gets to the files listed in his directory browser screenshot

sorry i'm difficult, but i appreciate you trying to help
