[QEMU-GA] Slackware as a Proxmox guest.

Hi,
I have Slackware 14.2 running as a guest under Proxmox, unfortunately it doesn't have qemu-ga installed, so it is difficult to make proper backups. I have installed https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1...u-guest-agent/, but it won't start giving me:

Code:
1515243754.365461: critical: error opening channel: No such file or directory
1515243754.365475: critical: error opening channel
1515243754.365487: critical: failed to create guest agent channel
1515243754.365488: critical: failed to initialize guest agent channel
Is it something else I need to install or configure?

I think you need to create the corresponding QEMU agent channel on your Proxmox: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Qemu-guest-agent

Hi,

I don't know about Proxmox, but under libvirt, you need to add org.qemu.guest_agent.0 channel.
My best guest is that you have to find a way to somehow add this channel under Proxmox.

EDIT:
Sorry I didn't spot it. @zakame might be pointing at good direction.

Do you have an idea if I have to restart/shutdown/start again VM to get it working? I have enabled it, and now "Yes" is highlighted to red colour.

Yeah I think you need a restart, I did that when adding the agent channel on my libvirt configs...
