sound card ?

Now according to Red Hat 9, my sound card works. ( i did the test) The only problem is that I can only hear the small sound effects in GAIM (as far as i know). Now, I tried downloading an mp3 and playing it, but nothing actually lets me play it. Actually , one does, but I hear nothing. I also tried playing a CD... still, no luck. BTW my sound card is a:
Sound Blaster Live! Value
and works beautifully with Windows.
how do I fix this?!!

The Red Hat 9 people decided not to include mp3 codecs because of weird licensing issues I think.

You need to install a small RPM to be able to play them.

however i still can't play CDs?

you cant play (hear) cd's unless u have an audio cable attatched from cd drive to your sound card (windows doesnt require this special connection)

damn, that sux, can't I use a cd ripper to make them into mp3's?
