"MB Pro " = Mac Book Pro.
The 'open' cmd at the cli on a MAC ( OS/X ) will open almost anything with the correct (or at least appropriate) tool for you.

On *nix we usually check the filetype first with 'file' cmd as above, then invoke the right tool.
