Question KDE Spin Will Not Logout

9 times out of 10 Logout gives me a black screen with a mouse pointer.
I don't know if this is an sddm, KDE, or video driver issue.

Current Work arounds
1) Ctl Alt F2 - Login and kill -9 the startkde PID
2) I enabled Ctl Alt Backspace, that forces the Login screen to come back

Fedora 30 KDE spin fresh install.

Have you checked the log files? This link will telly how to filter the logs by a "time window" (it's about a third of the way down the page): https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...e-systemd-logs

Where do I report this bug?

It started not logging in or out the way it's supposed to.
When I rebooted it was running numerous stop jobs for sessions that were logged out.

I went here:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Archive:Speeding_up_KDE

and did this:

Removing Akonadi & KDE PIM suite

If you don't need the KDE PIM tools, you can uninstall the Akonadi framework.
Keep in mind to do this you cannot use neither Mageia Control Center nor urpme as that would remove your whole KDE installation due to the inter-package dependencies. The following command should be able to remove Akonadi, but keep some essential packages:

rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa | grep akonadi | grep -v -e akonadi-kde4 -e akonadi-kmime4 -e akonadiprotocolinternals)

To also uninstall the KDE PIM tools themselves (for whatever reason) you could use the following:

rpm -e --nodeps $(rpm -qa | grep -e kdepim -e kpim -e pimcommon)

Things seem to be working the way they should now.

I started having other issues with KDE so I switched to the Cinnamon spin. Problems all went away. I have been using KDE for over 10 years. It would make sense to have a basic GUI install and the option to add the extra things if you want them. This is the same thing I think about Windows 10, I don't want all that stuff.
