As an avid user of Slackware 14.1 myself, I can relate a little to Drakeo's troubles, but only up to a point.

The SBO folks have made clear the limits of what they are offering, and ultimately it is your responsibility, as the owner of your computer, to know what you are doing and not break your system (and have a fallback plan for when things break).

If you don't want a broken system, don't install software that will break it.

That might require a little foreplanning and investigation to accomplish, but the responsibility is yours.

Blindly trying to install third-party packages for platforms for which they were never intended is, to say the least, fraught with peril.

I appreciate the fine feed back. As Willy says and like I have been doing since 14.1 came out I maintain my own github and bitbucket. Like I said in 2013 your throwing away 4 years of stable qt4. Only a point of view
