Hello,
I'm trying to install Lubuntu on my EeePC 1005PE, 1.66Ghz Atom proessor, 2GB RAM.
I've got several partitions: Windows 7, Linux 10.04 (which for the time being I want to conserve). I have prepared a 80GB partition ext4 for Lubuntu, I also have a 40GB FAT32 partition for data (empty for the time being) and also a large (12GB, I think) SWAP partition.
I finally managed to get the USB pendrive to work. I can get the live version of Lubuntu working.
When installing from it, I get error messages:
Quote:
ubi-partman failed with exit code 10. Further information may be found in /var/log/syslog. Do you want to...
|
Quote:
Problem in initramfs-tools... E:Write error (28: No space left on device), E:IO Error saving source cache, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened
|
I've sometimes got this error but not this time round): a prompt with
after which I can do nothing.
I don't know how to consult "/var/log/syslog" in the context of a live USB pendrive.
I have googled it, and have found info, but am unable to interpret it, that is, info is given, but not exact instructions (commands, step-by-step), and I can't solve the problem.
One site said that the installer was attempting to install on a Windows partition and that I am supposed to put a "nodmraid" parameter when installing, but, after several attemps, I realized that I simply do not know how to do this (the "install" command does not work on boot prompt).
Looking forward to your replies!
Thanks in advance,
RM
