My longest uptime right now is 17 days and some change. That tells me that that particular system last got an updated kernel 17 days ago . . . .

My answer mirrors that above, although I have had my machine up for days with no problem. Also, I switch it off at the power point, to let the power drain from the capacitors in the power supply, to give it a rest - so it's nice and rested when I turn it on.
