lfs 8.2 sysvinit version. Openbox starts with root only.

Hi again Everyone,

Got Openbox installed but it only works if I'm logged in with root only.
When I login with username startx goes to the 3 Xorg terminals.
I tried this:
chown -R username:users /home/username but that didn't work either.

Thanks for any suggestions/help a lot.

I know this is basic but you do have .xinitrc with exec openbox in /home/user?
and owned by user:user

When I installed it I was in root via host machine with this command:echo openbox > ~/.xinitrc

I really don't know about the rest of your question.

Thanks for the reply Spiky

~ is shorthand for your home folder so when you wrote to ~/.xinitrc as root it wrote to roots folder ( /root ) repeat the command as a normal user
