Desktop Distribution of the Year

It's an easy pick for me: Manjaro (even though now I just use Arch).
All in all, Manjaro is what you would get if Arch was newbie-friendly (but it's a derivative, so it's not really arch).
I typically prefer the KDE version of Manjaro, but the XFCE version is also quite nice.
The default theme is very beautiful, and the fact that it is based off of Arch gives you access to the AUR, giving you an unbeatable amount of software. It even has a program (either Pamac or Octopi depending on if you get XFCE or KDE) for automating AUR installations.
Manjaro is really tough to beat. Did I mention it was rolling-release? That means you don't have to reinstall from a new ISO every 9 months!

Slackware, because I still like it best of the Linux distros and BSDs I use (although I like each for its own reasons), and it’s the only new Linux installation I did in 2019, that I used extensively, SlackwareARM -current on Raspberry Pi 4. (Raspbian also on RPi from time to time, but I use Slack a lot more.)

After some 20 years of RedHat-ery, I'd had to switch, now that CentOS seems to be Gnome or nothing. Having had a problem with a badly-designed Xubuntu undate, I decided to go to PCLinuxOS — rolling release without the excitement! It's not perfect, but it works well and has a large repository.

Although i love slacware an appreciate Ubuntu/all/flavors, none of those(from antiX to quite a few of them) could work with my GeForce on desktop computer (even Windows 10), even with help from NVidia,but Ubuntu works well with my other machine-laptop (4 years old Acer) .

As a newbie (relatively I think), I have been using Ubuntu for a few years now (most of my Terminal work is copy and paste, but I love the power of it).

Recently installed Mint on 2 of my 3 computers (old HP desktops), quite impressed with it.

I would try it on all my computers but my wife has a zillion pictures on her Ubuntu computer scattered here and there, and insists on using an old vers.3 of Picasa to manage them.
Not sure how that would go down in Mint, so I hesitate there.

I vote for Mint.

I was introduced to Linux via Red Hat 2.0. 2 years later I started working for Hewlett Packard and was introduced to Debian. Never went anywhere else really - I tried a few others over the years but always went back to Debian or some Debian derivative.

Didn't you used to use Salix as well? It's been a long time since I've been active here so I could be wrong. If I'm remembering correctly, why didn't you just go to Salix 100%?

Probably permanently branding myself as a NEWBIE but my favourite distros are Linux Mint v 19.3 and Peppermint 10 in no particular order.
Run these distros in both 32 & 64 bit on various computers with the XFCE desktop.

After a while you don't need to copy & paste any more.

Hi! First I'm a new user of this forum. So I say: I'm become from Windows and I'm a Linux user to 10 years, if I remember exactly!
So which distro I prefer? I try many such as RedtHat (my first linux experience), Debian (because resolve package dependies), Fedora ecc..., bat now I'm a Slackaware 14.2 user.
Sometimes I like to try another distro, so I'm return to Slackware ever.
