dual boot linux rh9 & win98 with samsung 1710 usb printer. works fine on win98 side. i have added the ppmtospl2 from the samsung cd as well as /usr/local/linuxprinter/ppd/C/ML-1710spl2.ppd
although i don't know where the latter came from. i checked debugging on the cups menu, but haven't seen anything yet. i have been wrestling this mother for a year, so i just need a lift to get to the next plateau.

i have a /etc/x11 and when i search on files with *x11*, i see several files in various directories. i googled and looked at the cups web site, but don't see a simple x11 library download. i've downloaded several items, but don't see any progress.
this thread may be closed. i can now print. there was no "solution". forget cups. forget samsung cd. /usr/bin/lpr did the trick. i now know enough to know this is not an answer, but what the hey.
