Unable to load QM_MODULES

Hi, I have compiled the 2.6.5 kernel successfully but while doing make_install i get an error "QM_MODULES function not implemented". I have updated my modutils to 2.4.25 and recompiled the kernel but I still get this error. Also, while booting up it gives the same error at a couple of places.

Any ideas?

does "/sbin/modprobe .." work? i had same trouble with redhat 8.0 . i had to type to /sbin/modprobe dmfe after booting to active my ethernet. it didnt load modules at boot time. i installed module init tools 3.0 from tar ball. after that it worked.
u may try module init tools.

how did you install the 3.0 module-init-tools? I did:
./configure --prefix=/sbin/
make
make install

But it kept installing it at /usr/local/sbin

So when I did make modules_install it still gives me the warning "QM_MODULES: Function not implemented".

You have to install module init tools from ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kerne...rusty/modules/ here. Should solve your problems.
