Trying to install APT4RPM in RH9 - HELP

Here are the packages I've installed so far:

perl-XML-LibXML-1.53-1.i586.rpm
perl-XML-LibXML-Common-0.12-1.i586.rpm
perl-XML-NamespaceSupport-1.08-1.i586.rpm
perl-XML-SAX-0.12-1.i586.rpm
librpm-4.0.2-32cl.i386.rpm
db3-3.1.17-8cl.i386.rpm

Everything seemed to install fine, but I don't know what to do I this point, I tried:

[root@localhost apt4rpm]# apt-get update
apt-get: relocation error: /usr/lib/librpm.so.0: undefined symbol: fdio

I'm trying to follow the manual from http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net/ . But none of it makes any sense.

You might take a look at the documentation at << http://freshrpms.net/apt/ >>.
