Other than the /etc/redhat-release , is there any other source to find out the update of the Kernel OS ??

I want to know, the Update number that is installed in my Linux OS.

Thanks for the response, But "uname -a " will not serve the purpose...

I have got two Linux boxes. One is Linux 3.0 machine and other is 2.1 machine.

For 3.0 machine : -
I get the following information ---> Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 3)

For 2.1 machine:-

Here I get only -->Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS/i686 (Pensacola) .

I want to know which update it is .(Like 1,2 or something else)

Is there anyother way to get it?

redhat version with updates

uname -a in my case reveals this:
[root@sasquatch root]# uname -a
Linux sasquatch 2.4.21-4.EL #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

does this mean ^^^^ (21-4) anything for instance some version of an update installed. In other words we need to know what update version is installed on our linux machine. We're tracking a problem with linux where Websphere 6.0 complains about certain update not installed and aborts.

thanks
