Unhappy Samba 3 using Openldap on RH9

I am new to linux, I recently managed to set up a Samba 3 server on my RH 9 machine. Now, I would like to use LDAP to manage my user accounts. I am very new to LDAP and have been surfing the net to get info on how to set up a LDAP server and I am heading no where. Anyone out there have set this up before and maybe you could tell me where to start?? I am trying very hard and don't intend to give up. If my samba works well, I intend to replace all my present NT4 logon servers.

Thumbs up

Thanks! Went to the site and downloaded some documents. Still working on it, progressing slow.

Just wondering if you could help on this, where do I put the LDIF file? Which directory is it sitting on or am I missing something here?
