RHES-3 up2date reset

I have a RHES-3 installed and everything was working fine until a few days ago. Then I "up2dated" the system and now every time I run up2date again the system reboot after a few seconds. I have regularly paid for update but not for support.

Well, maybe the cause can be rpm, because if I go in '/var/spool/up2date' directory and I issue an 'rpm -Fvh *.rpm' command, the system reboot after 1 minute or so, before taking any action.
Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance for the help
