Question RHEL 5 working slow and RAM is 1.5 GB & HHD is 150 GB,how to clean the Disk


Hi All,

This is pramod from India, i am fresher in Linux so please can you help me

i have installed RHEL 5 Operating System it was running good suddenly it is working slow and RAM is 1.5 GB & HHD is 150 GB,how to clean the Disk

Never heard of RHEL 5 Urgent.
Considering all the information you have provided I'd conclude something is wrong.
Have you tried running top to see what's going on?

have you read the log massages ?
/var/log/??????

also the older RHEL5 ( rhel 5.10 is the current ) is really not free

being a student you DID BUY the required support contract ( student one from your Univ. )
so you DO have access to redhat support


without knowing the output of "top"
or what you were doing

we can not help much



Also this is NOT URGENT !!!
not even for YOU

likely a reboot will solve the issue
