I'm folling the directions here and when I save the previous kernel config I get a bunch of these errors:
ERROR - Attempting to write value for unconfigured variable (CONFIG_IP_NF_AMANDA).
ERROR - Attempting to write value for unconfigured variable (CONFIG_IP_NF_TFTP).
ERROR - Attempting to write value for unconfigured variable (CONFIG_IP_NF_MATCH_RECENT).
ERROR - Attempting to write value for unconfigured variable (CONFIG_IP_NF_ARP_MANGLE).

I tried to start with a clean config and was able to compile and boot off the kernal but any now modules I try to compile against it end up with unresolved symbols when I try to load them.

Also when RH made the kernel and modules where did they put the source for all the hardware not in the kernel. For example the onboard 3c905 card isn't in the kernel so RH much have compiled it somewhere, why didn't include all that source in their distribution?

I couldnt get my Kernel to compile properly wth red hat, i kept getting errors all over the place, unresolved symbols here... problems there, so i just downloaded a newer kernel (2.4.22) and compilede that instead

Oops I guess I wasn't clear enough. I am trying to compile 2.4.22. I took the script from the original RH kernel and tried it and when it didn't work I started from scratch on a 2.4.22 compile. It will compile and boot but when I recompile a module like my prism2_pci it will give the unresolved symbols.
