Im confused on licesning(?) with Redhat enterprise workstation.
If I buy one copy am i allowed to install it on say 20 machines? Or will i be required to buy 20 lisenses to install it? Same question with AS as well? is this the same?
well.. im probing this for a small office network... If it were for my home computers I would probably just install it. But for a company. I think it needs to be legal. That is what I was wanting to know. I think redhat may be the way to go... but I wont be able to sell it if there is not much cost savings over MS.... I might look at mandrake.
Well.. I think slackware would be an awesome idea.. but there is no support provided for it. It needs to be supported... Im not sure how I am going to work this. I think I will write 2 seprate proposals.. one with RedHat.. one with mandrake.
I personaly like RH but if u need a distro with support and is widely accepted buy the IT comunity like IBM they support Suse and RH. But there is no problem with other distros but these 2 r the ones that have support and is widely accepted buy big vendors.
I'm pretty sure the RedHat Network update service will only work for as many installations you have licensed. In other words, would only be able to get security fixes and other upgrades for one machine.
