redhat kickstart server to install debian/ubuntu

Hi all,

i've been using my redhat kickstart server for a while but recently i've to install debian & ubuntu in some boxes. until now i've been installing manually for few machines. now it seems more servers are coming and planning a way to make it life easy see if its possible to consolidate same kickstart box to use for debian installation.
has anyone had success or should i've to build another ubuntu/debian kickstart server.
any suggestion would greatly appreciated.
regards.

Might want to check out: http://fai-project.org/

Or setup ubuntu to use pre-seed: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/instal...eed-using.html
-- Thats for an older version, not sure if you are on 11.x yet but I don't think there are many differences.

Heres for 11.10: https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10/instal...x-preseed.html

sounds like i've to setup different server just for debian and ubuntu install...
i couldn't find that i can integrate in redhat kickstart server, which would have been easy for me.

any recommendation would greatly appreciated.

fai is the only sort of kickstart application that I have ever heard of that works across multiple different families of distros. preseed is pretty easy to setup you may want to just try setting that up on one of your debian boxes and play with it.
