Redhat 9, Mozilla, OO: fonts, defaults, commands

Redhat 9. I just installed the newest versions of Open Office and Mozilla in seperate directories. The new verstions operate perfectly except for the fonts. I get the jagged fonts instead of the smoothed edged type that is default Red Hat. Also after saving an OO file the system does not know how to open an Open office application to display it.

Also anyone know the commands for Open Office startup (writer, calc, etc)?

Guangzhou, PRC.
