Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.3 update 5 to update 6

Greetings to anyone,
as in subject we have 2 server RHEL v.3 U5, they are attached to a SAN and
for high compatibility with a particular version of PowerPath
we need to switch to update 6.
If i run up2date RH will automatically update to RHEL v.3 U9, but I'd
like up2date stop at update 6. Is there a way to do this?
I noticed that "yum" isn't available for RHEL v.3 so I think the
redhat-release rpm is not useful to accomplish this.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me,
regards,

-
Fabio
