Problem with SATA HDD while insatlling RHEL 4

Hi,

I am trying to install RHEL 4 for my PC. During the installation ,it can't detect my hard disk and ask for device drivers. I am using SATA HDD. But any case, the installation did n't complete and exit with error message, "No Hard Drive found".

My System Details:
Mother Board: Intelchipset(mercury)Board 945

HDD : Samsung SATA
Linux : Red Hat 3 EE

from where i get device driver (linux) for SATA HDD

Hi,
Please try to pass the parameter , during the boot of the boot disc1.
boot:linux all-generic-ide noapic nolapic

U need to change the setting in the BIOS.

GO to the BIOS settings -- > Advanced --> drive configuration --> ADE/IDE Mode --> and change the mode " Native " to "Legacy ".

And now try to install..

Note : This may differ from motherboard to motherboard.Try to find out the drive configuration.
