can you post the full errors ?

also you are aware that 5.1 is very old
the current RHEL5 is 5.9 and that is the very last minor upgrade

with so little information i can not even guess at what might be wrong

did you read the install instructions ?
that log states that you are MISSING REQUIRED programs
like
Code:
configure: WARNING: Skipping radius plugin
configure: WARNING: install radius libs to compile this plugin (see REQUIREMENTS).
-----
WARNING: Skipping mysql plugin
configure: WARNING: install mysql client libs to compile this plugin (see REQUIREMENTS).
and it is not complete it dose not end in a error, nor finishes
just ends on line 197 with
"checking for ps syntax... "

some programs can take some time for configure to run
but it will ether finish and tel you to run make
or
will output a error
and what the error is

also the very top few lines are missing
i have zero idea what exactly you passed to the configure script other than you tried one set of options in the first post

also "nagios-plugins-1.4.15" is in the rpmforge repo
unless you need some very explicit options built in it
why not use the prebuilt rpm

on rhel5 rpmforge/dag can have some incompatibilities so the yum plugin " yum-priaorites" is required ( and configured )
see the red hat knowledge base for instructions on configuring it
https://access.redhat.com/search/quick
( you will need to login to red hat using the credentials you set up with the required support contract )
-- or the centos docs
http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities
you can also fallow the CentOS 5 wiki page
http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalRes...11404998926a1b
rpmforge repo

-- 32 bit
http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-relea...l5.rf.i386.rpm
-- 64 bit
http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-relea....rf.x86_64.rpm

import the security key
Code:
rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt

then the "nagios-plugins"
Code:
yum install nagios-plugins

We did, but you apparently missed it. There are two things you need to do:
  • Register your system with Red Hat (which means PAYING for RHEL, if you're not already)
  • Download/install the missing dependencies
Your installation instructions are telling you very clearly that you are missing programs, so INSTALL THEM. In order to do that, REGISTER your system with Red Hat.
