machine sleeps ignoring network requests

I am running redhat 9.0 on my machine. I initially set
it up with High security, but later changed it to medium
security. I can ssh scuccesfully to the machine if the
keyboard on it has been used recently. Else, I cannot
ping or ssh to it. If I go back to the machine and tap
on the keyboard, I can get the machine to wake up and
ping/ssh will work again.

I don't know how I can access the control center as it
is not an option in the menu(maybe because of high
security install, or maybe I am missing some package),
so I can't check the power management setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rakesh

Howzit

well if it? a notebook then u will have a service called ampd which can be enabled or disabled with setup or with cmd chkconfig apmd off with this cmd must reboot box.

The other thing would be to check BIOS settings of your box.
